Wedding in Alanya: choosing the bridal bouquet and flowers for the day

Wedding in Alanya often starts with the same small worry royalty once had: in 1947 the future Elizabeth II's bouquet went missing between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. From then on the florists Longmans made two bouquets for every royal wedding, and in 1981 they made two identical ones again. Posy, cascade or presentation: the shape of a bridal bouquet

A posy is the smallest shape: a small round bunch that sits in one hand. A cascade is larger, narrowing towards the bottom and trailing below the hands. A presentation bouquet uses long-stemmed flowers, often calla lilies, carried lengthwise in the crook of the arm.

A pomander is a ball of flowers on a ribbon at the wrist, useful when hands must stay free, and a Biedermeier bouquet is arranged in concentric rings, each one flower or colour set against its neighbour. The cascade became the shape of the 1980s after the 1981 royal wedding sent a bouquet of about a metre down the aisle.

When the celebration moves to a restaurant, the delivery time is arranged with the venue's manager so the flowers arrive for the right moment, whether the toast or the dessert. These arrangements sit in soaked foam: water the whole surface daily in a thin stream and never tip the basket.

An order for a set date and time is accepted in any zone, and booking early leaves more time slots open. Anyone unsure which bouquet to choose can send a photo example in chat: the florist replies with similar work, and both photo and price arrive before payment.

The finished bouquet is photographed before the courier leaves, so changes are still possible from that photo. The date, time slot, address, recipient and card message can all be changed up to six hours before delivery by messaging the manager with the order number.

Payment is by Visa or Mastercard, and the total in the cart is final. Several bouquets going to different addresses can sit in one cart, with delivery worked out separately for each.
