51 tulips in Yerevan: choosing the bouquet and keeping it upright
51 tulips in Yerevan want cold water only about a third of the way up the vase: deep warm water softens the stems and makes them bend. First comes the choice of bouquet, though.
Two bouquets of 51 tulips, and neither name gives a colour
The grid has two 51-tulip bouquets: "Love" and "Random" No. 2. Neither name states a colour, so check the grid photo and the photo the florist sends before the courier leaves, when changes can still be requested. An unavailable tulip is swapped for one close in shade and price, shown on that photo. Flowers are bought after payment, and each bouquet is assembled to order. Dutch greenhouse tulips run from December to May, forced from bulbs given an artificial winter.
Keeping 51 tulips upright in the vase
A cut tulip keeps growing, about a centimetre or two a day, leaning towards the light, so its shape shifts within a day or two; turn the vase daily. The water stays cold, about a third full. Daffodils need their own water for a day first: their sap turns tulips yellow and shortens their life, and once combined the stems aren't recut. Cut stems at an angle, strip leaves below the waterline, and keep the vase away from radiators, sun and fruit.
Delivery time shows on the bouquet's page, and most orders arrive the same day; details are on the delivery page. For a different shape, try mono bouquets or flower baskets.
