Flower Baskets by Type in Medellin

Flower baskets by type in Medellin: birthday, wedding, fruit and flowers

Flower baskets by type in Medellin all start with the same problem: woven willow holds no water. The florist lines the basket with a waterproof sheet, sets floral foam inside and lets it sink on its own — forcing it down leaves dry pockets. That build stays the same for all three types; what changes is the occasion.

Birthday, wedding or fruit and flowers: matching the basket to the day

The range splits into birthday baskets, a wedding basket and fruit and flower baskets. Birthday pieces include the Giant Mixed Basket with Lilies, 51 Lilies in a Basket and the Fruit Basket with Flowers. A Bento Cake "Happy Birthday" and foil "Happy Birthday!" balloons sit in the same grid and can be added to the order, along with a free card. A bento cake is a palm-sized cake in a takeaway box, first made in South Korea and named after the Japanese lunch box. With a cat at home, skip the lilies: every part, including the pollen and vase water, is toxic to cats.

How a flower basket is built and how to keep it fresh

A basket stands without a vase; damp foam holds the stems in place. Water it daily in a thin stream over the whole surface and never tilt it, since dried-out foam barely takes water back. The arrangement ages as a whole, its life set by whichever flower fades first. The florist photographs the basket before the courier leaves, so anything can still be corrected.

For a first look, birthday baskets suit most occasions, a wedding basket suits the top table, and fruit and flower baskets combine both in one gift.
