51 peonies in Miami: choosing the form for China's king of flowers
51 peonies in Miami carry a reputation older than any bouquet: in China the peony is the "king of flowers" and the "flower of wealth and honour", and in 1903 the Qing dynasty named it the national flower. The stem count is fixed, so the only choice left is the form.
Bouquet, basket, box or cylinder: one count, four forms
The grid offers 51 peonies in Miami in four forms: a hand-tied bouquet, a basket, a box or a cylinder. All four hold the same fifty-one stems; only the form built around them differs.
Fifty-one is odd, which matters in one tradition. In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union, odd numbers go to the living and even numbers mark remembrance; elsewhere a dozen is more usual, so fifty-one simply reads as a generous count.
Each bouquet is made to order once payment clears. Before the courier leaves, a photo lets you request changes, and any flower out of stock is swapped for one close in shade and price, visible in that same photo.
How long 51 peonies last and how to care for them
Peonies are cut at the "marshmallow stage": the bud is coloured but still closed. In warm, light conditions it opens within 24–48 hours; a bud hard as a marble may stay shut.
In the vase, peonies last 5–7 days. Change the water daily, recut the stems, and keep the vase cool, away from sun, radiators and fruit.
