Tulips by Quantity in Belek

Tulips by quantity in Belek: what the stem count means for the bouquet

Tulips by quantity in Belek are counted in stems, since florists treat the tulip as a mass flower with usually one bloom per stem. The number in the name is the first choice a buyer makes here, before a name or the way the stems are wrapped.

From 11 to 101 stems: choosing the count

The section runs in six steps: 11, 15, 25, 35, 51 and 101 stems, each adding exactly as many heads as the name promises. Above the top step sits a basket of 151 tulips, and a basket needs no vase at all.

Within one step the bouquets differ by name rather than by count. 101 Snow Tulips, 101 Tulips "Lollipop" and 101 Tulips "Jusy" all hold the same number of stems, wrapped or named differently. Every bouquet is put together to order, and a photo goes to the buyer before the courier sets off, so a change can still be made before delivery.

Keeping a large tulip bouquet in the vase

A tulip stem prefers cold water, and the vase only needs filling to about a third. Deep, warm water softens the stems and lets them bend, which a tall bouquet can do without.

Once cut, a tulip keeps growing for a day or two and leans towards the light, so turning the vase once a day keeps the bouquet even. Cutting the stems at an angle and stripping any leaves below the waterline helps the water stay clear for longer.

Fifteen stems suit a first order; 15 tulips is a manageable place to start. For a bigger gesture, 51 tulips or a full 101 fill a room on their own, and a card with a message can be added at no extra cost.
