Spray rose baskets in Cape Town: peony-style roses or a mix with lilies
Among spray rose baskets in Cape Town, only one name adds a second flower, Giant Mixed Basket with Lilies. Every part of a lily, including its pollen and vase water, is toxic to cats and can cause acute kidney failure. For a home with a cat, the safer choice is one of the other baskets, all named for peony spray roses.
Each basket is put together after the order, and flowers are bought once payment clears. A photo goes out before the courier leaves, leaving a short window for changes. If a flower isn't available, the florist swaps it for one close in colour and price, visible in that same photo. A card with your message is free.
How to keep a spray rose basket fresh
A basket needs no vase: the stems sit in wet floral foam. Water it daily in a thin stream, without tipping the basket — dried-out foam barely takes water back. Keep it away from radiators, direct sun and ripe fruit, which shorten a flower's life.
A basket ages as one piece, and its shortest-lived flower sets the pace. A spray rose usually holds about a week, sometimes ten days. In a mixed basket, lily anthers are best removed once open, and pollen on fabric lifts off with sticky tape, not rubbing.
Other shapes of the same flowers are in flower baskets, and a hand-tied option is in roses. Handover details are on the delivery page.
