Cake or cupcakes: a logistics decision dressed up as a taste decision

People choosing a sweet gift talk about flavour. What usually determines whether the gift lands is duller than flavour: the room it arrives in, and whether anybody there is willing to cut it.

Lead time comes first. Pastry work is scheduled, and elaborate decoration is scheduled further ahead than plain finishing. Confirm what is realistic for the date you want before paying rather than after.

Transport and storage come second. Cream and mousse dislike warmth and dislike being jolted, so the parcel needs a short walk from the door to a fridge. In summer this stops being a detail.

Dietary limits come third. Nut allergies, lactose, a recipient who has quietly stopped eating sugar. One message answers all of it and saves both money and an awkward moment.

If a cake and flowers are going out together across Chisinau, mention which is handed over first. A courier can manage a box in one hand and a bouquet resting on top of it, but not the reverse.
