Forever roses in Delhi: kept long after the Amrit Udyan gates close
Amrit Udyan at Rashtrapati Bhavan opens to the public for only about two months, in February and March, for its tulips and roses. Forever roses in Delhi know no such window: a real rose, cut the moment it opens, holds that shape for years rather than a season. The choice here is the case, the number of buds and the shade.
A dome, a clear box, a velvet lid or a heart at a Delhi door
Forever roses in Delhi come in four cases, and the number of buds is what tells them apart. The lightest of the four is a single bud or three under a glass dome, small enough to carry through a doorway in both hands with nothing to assemble.
A step up from that is a clear acrylic box, which holds four, nine or twenty-five buds and shows every one of them at once, since there is no lid to lift.
A velvet hat box keeps nine or nineteen buds under a lid, a shape borrowed from the hat boxes of the nineteenth century. The heart-shaped box holds thirteen red buds set into its outline.
Rose Day and Delhi's festival weeks begin on 7 February, and any of the four cases above makes a fitting first gift of that week.

Red for a festive Delhi gift, and why white is chosen with care
Indian gift-wrapping favours red, maroon, gold, yellow and green, and keeps away from black and pure white. White flowers, white garlands above all, are tied to funerals and mourning across much of the country, so a white bud is not the easy default a red one is.
Red appears in all four cases here, powder pink comes under the dome, in the acrylic box and under velvet, and purple or blue stay to the single bud under glass. Those last two shades exist because the dye enters the same glycerine solution the stem is already drawing on its own, reaching the petal the way the preserving mixture does.
Kept on a shelf for years while fresh roses last a week
A fresh rose kept in water lasts about a week before it drops. A forever rose is never put in a vase: its sap has been replaced with a glycerine solution that keeps the petal soft, unlike a dried flower, which turns brittle. Kept indoors, it holds that stage for one to three years.
It wants a shelf away from direct sun, since strong light fades the dye, and no watering or misting at any point; through Delhi's hottest months that rule matters more than it would in a milder climate. Chosen instead of a bouquet of fresh roses, it outlasts both a single festival week and the brief season any flower garden keeps open.

Forever roses delivery in Delhi is free within the central zone, and an address further out adds its zone charge at checkout; the florist photographs the finished piece and sends it before the courier leaves, with the rest of the terms on the delivery page. A first choice is easiest kept small: a dome with a single bud for a desk, or a hat box when the gift calls for nine or nineteen.
