Corporate Gifts in Hamburg: flowers for staff, clients and the office

The first National Secretaries Week was held in the United States in June 1952, with a Wednesday set aside as Secretaries' Day. The date has since moved to the last full week of April, and the customary gifts are still cards, flowers, chocolates and lunch. A company's flower calendar is written by other people's dates in the same way: staff birthdays, a partner's anniversary, a client's visit. Corporate gifts in Hamburg are therefore ordered from a list rather than from a picture.

What companies order: staff, clients and the reception desk

Three kinds of order arrive from companies. The first is a batch for staff: bouquets of the same size for 8 March, a round of birthdays or a work anniversary. For that the section holds mini bouquets, compliment bouquets and small arrangements in paper handbags that are easy to carry and hand out. The second is a single gift to a client or partner, such as roses in a box, a cheese or fruit basket or a box of macarons, chosen to stand on a meeting-room table without a vase. The third is flowers for the office on a schedule the company sets.

The service page puts it in one line: greetings for staff and partners, regular flowers for the office, event styling. A private customer picks a bouquet and then types an address; a company sends the list first, with names, floors or room numbers, the date and hour, and a card message for each person. Every bouquet is made to order and the flowers are bought after payment, so a large batch is easier to agree a few days ahead than the evening before.

One floor's batch: the bouquets follow a single sample and the card envelopes are still blank.

The corporate calendar lands on the busiest days of the year. Around 14 February, 8 March and Mother's Day orders multiply, delivery slots widen and an exact-minute handover is not promised on those days, so a batch for 8 March is placed several days ahead. An order for a set date and time is accepted for any zone, and the earlier it goes in, the more free slots remain. Staff birthdays are easiest handled as one list for the month: several bouquets to different addresses go into a single basket, and delivery is priced for each address separately.

Ready-made selections by date sit under Occasions. A gift with a clock can be added to the bouquet: boxed chocolate, a sweet set, a cake for the shared table. A cream cake should not stand at room temperature for more than two hours, so it is best ordered for the hour of the celebration. A card with a message is free.

Thanks, not romance: which flowers suit a colleague or a client

Flowers in a business gift are read with the same dictionaries as flowers in a private one. In the Victorian language of flowers a red rose stood for passionate love, so a box of red roses sent to a colleague or a client can land as a declaration instead of thanks. In the same dictionaries a pink rose means a softer feeling and a white one purity, while eustoma, alstroemeria and hydrangea hardly appear in them at all. Bouquets of that kind are common in the section, down to one called Business Elegance.

Across borders the dictionary changes. In France, Italy, Spain and Poland large chrysanthemums belong to funerals and graves, while in Japan the chrysanthemum is the flower of the imperial house. In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union an odd number of stems is given to the living and an even number is brought in remembrance. A batch going to partners in several countries is worth checking against the recipient, not the catalogue. The florist can be told the occasion, budget and country in the chat and will reply with a few options, photos and prices before anything is paid.

Office practice matters as much as meaning. Lily pollen leaves marks on fabric that are hard to remove, so lilies are a poor choice for a desk covered in documents. Reception flowers have to last the working week. Chrysanthemums, carnations, alstroemeria and cut orchids stand in water for two to three weeks, and flowers in boxes sit in wet floral foam and need no vase, only a daily watering straight into the foam.

Invoices, contracts and paying by bank transfer

Orders on the site are paid by Visa or Mastercard, the sum in the basket is final, and nothing is paid to the courier. A company can ask for an invoice to a legal entity, pay by bank transfer and receive closing documents, and a contract is drawn up when flowers are needed regularly. This is arranged with the manager once the list and the total are agreed; an order placed by messenger is paid through a link to the same secure page.

An order can be changed while the bouquets have not left for the recipients and no later than six hours before delivery: the date, slot, address, recipient and card text.

Corporate gifts in Hamburg: delivery to offices and events

An office order needs the company name and the floor. Where a building has access control, the courier hands the bouquets over at reception and the sender is told who took them. For a batch spread over several floors it is simpler to name one person who accepts everything at once. When the celebration is in a restaurant, the timing is agreed with the manager there and the flowers arrive on cue: for the toast, for dessert, for the walk on stage.

Delivery of corporate gifts in Hamburg is priced like any other order. The city centre is free, and other districts carry a fixed fee for their zone that is added to the order before payment. The bouquet card shows the delivery time, and an express option is available if the bouquet is in stock with the florist. The florist sends a photo before the courier leaves, and changes can still be asked for at that point; the sender is told when the bouquets are with the courier and when they have arrived.
