Peonies by quantity in Hong Kong: from five stems to a basket of 555
Peonies by quantity in Hong Kong runs from a Bouquet of 5 Peonies to a Basket of 555 Peonies, and one count often comes several ways: 51 peonies alone are sold in a basket, a box and a cylinder. The choice starts with the stem count, then the presentation.
How many peonies to send, and in what
Small counts travel in wrapping, as with 7 Peonies in Wrapping and 11 Peonies in Wrapping. Fifteen stems come in a basket or a jute pot, and larger counts, from 49 up past 51 to 101 peonies, are arranged in a basket, a box or a cylinder. To buy peonies in Hong Kong, start with a bouquet of five peonies, and let peony delivery in Hong Kong take it from there.
Every count here is odd. In Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union, an odd number of flowers goes to the living, an even one to graves; elsewhere a dozen is the usual measure, worth remembering if the recipient grew up with that custom.
Peonies are cut at the marshmallow stage: the bud is coloured, closed and soft to the touch, and opens within a day or two in warm water and light. In a vase they last five to seven days with daily water changes. The season runs almost all year but not quite, from late April to June in Europe and October to December in Chile. Each bouquet is made to order, with a photo sent before the courier leaves; how soon it arrives shows on the bouquet's own page. Start with 51 peonies or check the delivery terms first.
