Essential oils are the second. Several are unsuitable during pregnancy, and in a household with a cat, open aromatic oils need care rather than enthusiasm.
Shelf life is the third. Natural cosmetics without preservatives can carry a short date, sometimes only a few months, so a gift meant to sit in a cupboard is the wrong choice here.
