15 Tulips in Barcelona

15 tulips in Barcelona: a greenhouse flower and how to get the count right

Cut tulips are largely a greenhouse flower. Dutch bulbs pass through an artificial winter, then are forced under glass, with cutting running from December to May. Fifteen stems set the scale of a bouquet, and 15 tulips in Barcelona means choosing from that stock at a set count, while the grid above shows twenty-five and eleven.

Fifteen stems when the grid shows 11 and 25

The grid lists three bouquets: 25 Icecream Tulips, 25 Mixed Tulips and 11 Tulips in Designer Wrap, none landing on fifteen. Message the florist instead: describe the occasion and budget, and a photo with the price arrives before payment, since each bouquet is made to order. A change can still be requested and gets fixed before the courier leaves. Fifteen is an odd number: in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union, an odd count goes to the living, while elsewhere it makes no difference.

How a bunch of fifteen tulips changes in the vase

A cut tulip keeps growing, roughly a centimetre or two a day, and bends toward the light, so the shape shifts within a day or two. Turn the vase once a day, keep the water cold, and fill it about a third full, since deep, warm water softens the stems. Cut each stem at an angle and keep the vase away from radiators, sun and ripe fruit.

Where the exact count matters less than the flower, other mono bouquets or seasonal hits are worth a look. Delivery timing shows on each bouquet's page, with full terms on the delivery page. Most orders are handed over the same day they're placed.
