Peonies in Barcelona: by the stem, in a mix, or set down in a box
Peonies in Barcelona come in more shapes than the hand-tied bunch: alongside boxes and baskets with peonies, the range includes a designer cylinder, "Wow-3", a self-standing format meant for a table, not a vase. Most people start by checking whether the recipient has a vase at hand, then choose the scale and colour.
Five stems or a full mix: where a peony gift starts
Picking peonies in Barcelona usually starts with scale: how many stems, and for whom. Choosing by stem count suits a gift meant for one person rather than a room. The smallest option, 5 Peonies in Airy Wrapping, works for a quick visit or a desk, while the largest armfuls in the same subsection fill a family table without crowding it.
Mixed peony bouquets pair the peony with matthiola, with eucalyptus, or with peony roses for a fuller, more layered shape. Peony roses are mostly David Austin's English varieties, bred to open into the same dense, many-petalled cup as a peony itself. Where one bunch feels too small, the same subsection also offers a set of two bouquets sent as a single order, useful when flowers are going to two rooms, or two people, at once.
Colour is the shortcut when a shade matters more than the mix. Starting from the shade narrows the list fast, and 11 White Peonies with Eucalyptus is one place to begin.
A box, a basket or a designer cylinder: peonies that stand on their own
Peony boxes are built to be set down rather than arranged, which matters wherever a vase is not guaranteed to be close at hand. The same subsection also lists the "Wow-3" designer cylinder, another format meant to stand whole on a table. A basket works the same way and holds its shape without any vase at all.
Either format suits a table where guests will sit, or a flat where the recipient may not own a vase. The flowers sit in soaked foam, watered every day over its whole visible surface in a thin stream, without tipping the basket to one side.
Foam peonies: a Barcelona gift that doesn't need water
Barcelona's peony range also includes foamiran peonies. Sant Jordi, the city's day of the rose, falls on 23 April, and Spain's Mother's Day lands on the first Sunday of May. Fresh bouquets are made to order, and the flowers are bought only after payment. Delivery photos and zone details sit on the delivery zones page, and hotel deliveries or orders placed from abroad go through Barcelona's flower calendar and hotel deliveries.
The easiest way in is to pick what decides the gift first: a stem count for one person, a mixed bouquet for a fuller look, or a box for a desk with no vase nearby. Starting from the shade works just as well when colour comes first, and baskets with peonies are worth a look wherever the table is already set.
