Yellow bouquets in Buenos Aires: tulips or roses, by the stem or in a basket
Every name in the grid names a flower as well as a colour: tulip in fifteen, fifty-one and twenty-five stems in a basket, and rose in fifteen. Yellow bouquets in Buenos Aires are chosen first by flower, then by stem count or basket.
Yellow tulips or yellow roses
Dutch tulips are cut from December to May, after the bulbs spend an artificial winter in the cold and are then forced into flower in a greenhouse. A cut tulip keeps growing, a centimetre or two a day, and leans towards the light, so a bouquet's shape shifts within a day or two. A rose lasts about a week in the vase, sometimes up to ten days. Victorian flower dictionaries read yellow roses as friendship, though the lists disagree.
Fifteen stems, fifty-one or a basket
Fifteen and fifty-one stems are two scales of the same bouquet; a basket is a third, standing without a vase, its stems set in foam. Water the foam daily and never tilt it. Tulips in a vase want cold water filling it to about a third, since warm water softens the stems; turn the vase once a day. Another stem count can still be arranged: describe it in a chat, and a florist sends a photo and price before payment, with the exact shade of yellow shown in that photo before the courier leaves.
A single flower, kept simple, is the idea behind mono bouquets; a container that needs no vase is what flower baskets are for. Speed shows in the bouquet's own card; the delivery page has zones and rates.
