Birthday baskets in Madrid: lilies, a cake and one question to ask first
Birthday baskets in Madrid take two shapes in this grid, and both are named for the same flower: 51 Lilies in a Basket and the Giant Mixed Basket with Lilies. Every part of a lily, including its pollen and the water in the vase, is toxic to cats, so before choosing, it helps to ask whether the birthday person keeps one. With that settled, the choice is between a single-flower lily basket and a mixed one, and what to add alongside it. Either basket arrives without a vase, stems set in a wet block of foam.
Adding a cake, balloons or a card to a birthday basket
A cake, balloons or a topper from the same grid can be added to the basket order, and a card with a short message is free. The bento cake is a small cake in a takeaway box, a South Korean format named after Japanese lunch boxes, with a short birthday line piped on top in cream. A cream cake shouldn't stay at room temperature for more than two hours, so put it somewhere cool as soon as it arrives. A foil balloon keeps its helium for several days. The florist sends a photo of the basket before the courier leaves, so changes are still possible; without an address, the recipient's phone number is enough to arrange delivery.
Every basket in the range sits under flower baskets, cakes, balloons and toppers are listed in gifts to go with bouquets, and delivery terms are on the delivery page.
