Roses in acrylic box worldwide: four, nine or twenty-five forever roses
Roses in acrylic box worldwide come in three counts, and colour narrows as the count grows: four and nine forever roses come in red, powder pink and white, while twenty-five come only in red. The choice starts with the count, then colour, where it is still open.
Inside the box is a real rose, cut at the moment it opened. Its sap has been replaced with a glycerine-based solution that the stem draws up on its own, and the dye travels in the same solution. This is not plastic or silk: dried petals turn brittle and crumble, but glycerine keeps this rose soft, at the stage it was cut. In Victorian flower dictionaries red meant passionate love, pink a gentler feeling and white purity, though the lists disagree on the rest.
How long preserved roses last and how to look after them
With care, a preserved rose lasts one to three years. Keep it indoors, away from direct sunlight, which fades the dye, and away from radiators. It needs no water or misting, so keep it clear of splashes and damp rooms. Dust lifts off with a soft dry brush or a puff of compressed air.
Before the courier leaves, a photo of the finished box goes to the sender, and the card is free to write and can stay unsigned. For a rose that keeps drinking on its own, see fresh roses; for another vase-free option, see flowers in boxes; zones are set out on the delivery terms page.
