70 cm worldwide: where the Dutch range ends and the Andes begin
Roses sold as 70 cm worldwide mark a meeting point of two growing traditions. Dutch greenhouse roses usually run 40 to 70 centimetres, so 70 cm is their top length. Ecuador's longest Andean grades, raised at around 2,800 to 3,000 metres, start where the Dutch range ends and run on to a metre and more. Kenyan stems, by contrast, tend to come shorter than Ecuador's. At this one length, what separates the bouquets in the grid is their name: colour, stem count, or a spray rose instead of a single bloom.
Choosing and keeping a 70 cm bouquet
The grid offers Red Rose Bouquet "Naomi", 15 White Roses with Coffee Wrapping, and 11 Bombastic Spray Roses. The name is the only guide to what's inside. Every bouquet is made to order, photographed before the courier leaves, and changes can still be requested then.
Once the flowers arrive, cut the stems at an angle with a sharp knife. Strip leaves that would sit under water, and change it every day or two. Keep the vase away from radiators, direct sun and ripe fruit. A stem this long needs a tall vase to hold it upright. A rose in water lasts around a week, sometimes closer to ten days.
Other lengths and varieties sit in the roses section, and a single flower with no mix is easiest to find among the mono bouquets. Most orders are delivered the same day they are placed, the exact timing shows on the bouquet's card, and delivery covers the rest.
