35 tulips worldwide: choosing the count and keeping the stems upright
35 tulips worldwide go into a vase that is only about a third full of cold water, since deep warm water softens the stems and lets them bend. Before the vase comes the choice: how many stems, and whether a bouquet or a basket suits the address.
Between 25 and 51: choosing a count of tulips
The grid nearby ranges from 25 stems, as in 25 Mixed Tulips, up to a Basket of 151 Tulips. A basket needs no vase, since its stems sit in wet foam; a hand-tied bouquet of 35 does. Thirty-five is odd, and in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union an odd count goes to someone living, an even one marks a memory. Outside that tradition a dozen is the usual choice. A florist in chat can take the occasion and budget and send photos and prices before payment.
Keeping 35 tulips fresh after delivery
Cut the stems at an angle and strip any leaf that would sit below the waterline. Cold water and a vase about a third full stop the stems softening. Turning the vase once a day helps too, since a cut tulip keeps growing a centimetre or two a day and leans toward the light, so its shape shifts within a day or two. Change the water every day or two, and keep the vase away from radiators, sun and ripe fruit. A photo goes to the sender before the courier leaves, the card is free, and most orders arrive the same day; the exact time shows on the bouquet's page.
For another count, the other mono-bouquets sit in one place, and the flower baskets need no vase at all. Zones and timings are on the delivery details page.
