17 roses worldwide: red, pink or white, boxed or not
17 roses worldwide come in one fixed stem count, so the grid settles the rest. Both white options, 17 White French Roses in Athena Box and 17 French White Roses in a Box, come only boxed. Red and pink bouquets also come without one. With the number set, the choice narrows to colour and presentation.
Red, pink or white: choosing the colour of 17 roses
Victorian flower dictionaries gave each colour its own meaning: red for passionate love, pink for a gentler affection, white for purity. The lists disagree from one source to the next, so treat it as a hint rather than a rule. The Mix of 17 Roses sidesteps the choice altogether, bringing colours together in one bouquet. Seventeen is an odd number, and across Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and most of the former Soviet Union odd numbers go to the living, even ones to a grave.
17 roses in a box or a cylinder
French in these names isn't a variety: it's a florist's technique of turning the outer petals back by hand. Beyond that the grid offers a plain box, the Athena Box, the Marshmallow Box, and a cylinder. Every bouquet is made to order, and the florist photographs it before the courier leaves, so any change can still be made at that point.
