Turquoise bouquets worldwide: blue hydrangeas and what they need
Turquoise bouquets worldwide take their name from hydrangea, which names most bouquets here: Blue Lagoon, Blue Hydrangea with Matthiola, the Bouquet of 3 Blue Hydrangeas. The name is Greek for "water vessel": Linnaeus chose it in 1753 for the seed capsules' shape, not for how much it drinks. It does drink a lot, and that shapes its care.
Blue hydrangea bouquets and how to keep them fresh
Hydrangea takes in more water than most cut flowers, drinking through its petals as well as its stems. If a head droops, submerge it in cool water for an hour or two, never longer than four or five. Cut the stems at an angle on arrival and strip off any leaves below the waterline. Change the water every day or two, and keep the vase away from radiators, direct sun and ripe fruit.
Chrysanthemums, berries and a bear: the rest of the range
The Chrysanthemum Bouquet "Blue Snowflake" is the one bouquet without hydrangea. Chrysanthemums grow in greenhouses year-round and last two to three weeks in a vase; their leaves yellow before the flower does, so just pick them off. Strawberry bouquets pair strawberries and blueberries with a few stems, and the Blue Foamiran Bear is made from foamiran. Sweets, a toy or a vase can be added to any bouquet, and a card with a message is free.
The florist photographs the bouquet before the courier leaves, so changes are still possible then. See the delivery page for details, or browse mono bouquets for something built around a single flower.
