Holiday balloons worldwide: latex or foil, and which date they're for
Among the holiday balloons worldwide, the same message often comes in two materials: "Happy Birthday, Beauty!" as a latex balloon or a foil one, "To My Beloved Mom" as a helium latex balloon or foil. The choice starts with the material, because that decides how long the balloon stays in the air. Once that's settled, the next question is the occasion, and whether the balloon travels on its own or alongside a bouquet.
Birthday, Mother's Day and other dates the balloons are made for
Most of the holiday balloons worldwide are made for birthdays: foil balloons carry printed themes such as Hero Theme, Splashes and Black & Gold, and balloon sets or assorted mixes group several pieces into one order. The full range sits under birthday balloons.
Two subsections branch off from there, for balloons for Mother's Day and for Valentine's Day. A separate helium balloon is made for 8 March, with the colour left to choose, and another is made for 1 September.
The wording printed on a balloon is fixed when it's made. Anything personal goes on the card instead, and the card is free.
Latex is porous, and helium works its way through it slowly. Left untreated, a latex balloon stays up for about half a day, less if the weather is hot.
A foil balloon holds its helium far longer, for several days and sometimes beyond. That gap is what decides the material: latex suits a party happening that same evening, foil suits a balloon meant to sit in a room for a while.
Latex also comes in more finishes than foil. It's sold matte, in macaron shades, and in combinations of gold, black, white and transparent, while foil balloons keep to their printed themes.
A balloon with a bouquet or a cake in one order
A balloon, a sweet or a small toy can all be added to a bouquet in the same order, and the card with a written message stays free either way.
One example is the Bento Cake with "Happy Birthday" Balloon. A bento cake is a palm-sized cake in a takeaway box, an idea that started in South Korea and takes its name from the Japanese lunch box; the top usually carries a short line of text.
For everything else that pairs with a bouquet, gifts to go with bouquets lists the rest.
Balloon delivery worldwide for a fixed date
Orders are taken around the clock, and placing one takes about two minutes.
A date and time can be booked for any zone, and the earlier the order goes in, the wider the choice of slots. On 14 February, 8 March and Mother's Day, demand peaks: slots are wider and an exact minute isn't promised, so it helps to order a few days ahead.
The courier is told only the recipient's name and address, and the card can stay unsigned if the gift should be anonymous. Delivery in the centre is free, and the exact timeframe shows on the balloon's own page.
A birthday balloon is the easiest place to start choosing, since it's the largest group in the section. From there, balloons for Mother's Day and Valentine's Day balloons cover the other two big dates, and the delivery terms page sets out zones and timing before checkout.
