Ranunculus bouquet worldwide: a spring flower and what goes with it
Among the ranunculus bouquet worldwide options is Peonies and Ranunculus. In the northern hemisphere ranunculus is a spring cut flower, while peonies from the Netherlands, France, Germany and the UK run from late April to June. Choosing between the bouquets on offer starts with which flower ranunculus is paired with, and where the finished arrangement will stand.
Ranunculus with peonies, eucalyptus or stock: what the pairings mean
The grid pairs ranunculus with several companions. Peonies and Ranunculus brings the two flowers together in one bouquet, and Ranunculus with Eucalyptus, along with its No. 1 and No. 2 versions, adds greenery rather than another flower. Bouquet of Matthiola and Ranunculus brings in a different bloom, and Ranunculus with Chamomile is a fourth option on the list.
Eucalyptus works as a filler in florists' language: it closes the gaps between the round ranunculus heads rather than drawing the eye itself. Matthiola, also sold as stock, is a line flower, in the same group as gladiolus or delphinium, and its job is to set the outline and the height of the arrangement.
Peonies stay in the catalogue for most of the year, though not the whole of it. When the exact peony is out of stock, the florist substitutes one close in shade and price, and the substitution appears on the photo taken before the courier leaves. For a single flower on its own stem, the mono bouquets range lists ranunculus by itself in Ranunculus No. 1, No. 2 and, largest of all, 113 Ranunculus.
A hand-tied bouquet is built as a spiral: each stem goes in at a slight angle, always the same way round, so the stems cross roughly a hand's width below the heads. Built this way, the bouquet stands on a table on its own, without support, and at home it goes into a vase of water.
A basket works differently, because woven canes do not hold water. A waterproof liner sits inside the frame, and the flowers are set into wet floral foam rather than water. The whole arrangement then ages together, and the shortest-lived flower in it sets the pace for the rest.
A box holds its flowers in foam as well, in a shape that comes from the hat boxes of the nineteenth century. Whichever format arrives, the foam needs watering every day: a thin stream over the whole exposed surface, without ever tilting the container.
Ranunculus bouquet delivery worldwide and care at home
Every ranunculus bouquet is put together to order, and the flowers are bought only once the order is paid. Before the courier sets off, the finished bouquet is photographed, and that photo is the moment to ask for any change.
An address is not strictly needed: the recipient's phone number is enough to arrange delivery. The card that goes with the bouquet costs nothing and can be left unsigned, and the courier is given only the recipient's name and address, nothing else about the order. Most bouquets go out on the day they are ordered, the exact timing for this bouquet shows on its own page, and general timings live on the delivery page.
At home, ranunculus wants a clean cut at an angle with a sharp knife and any leaf that would sit below the waterline removed. Changing the water every day or two keeps it clear, and the vase itself is best kept away from radiators, direct sun and a bowl of ripe fruit.
Peonies are worth a look when the bouquet needs a second large flower, and the range sits under peonies. Where a vase is not a certainty, the flower baskets and flowers in boxes sections offer an arrangement that carries its own water instead.
