White peonies worldwide: why they arrive as buds and open at home
White peonies worldwide are cut at the marshmallow stage: the bud sits closed but gives slightly under a light press. Left in warm water and daylight, that bud opens within 24 to 48 hours; a bud hard as a marble may never open at all. Because the bouquet keeps changing for a day or two after it arrives, the first decision is how many stems you want and which format suits the occasion.
Nine, 35 or 51 stems: choosing a white peony bouquet
Some listings are named by stem count: 9 Snow-White Peonies, 35 White Peonies and 51 White Peony. Others carry a name instead, such as White Peony Bouquet "Five" or Bouquet of White Peonies, and the name is all the listing tells you about it.
Every bouquet is put together to order, and the florist photographs it before the courier leaves, so any change can still be requested from that photo. If a particular stem is out of stock, the florist swaps it for one close in shade and price, and that swap shows up in the same photo.
How white peonies open and how long they last
Given proper care, a peony stays in the vase for five to seven days. The water needs changing daily, and a fresh cut at the base of each stem keeps it drinking.
Keep the vase somewhere cool, away from direct sun, heat sources and fruit bowls nearby, since all three push the flowers to open and fade faster than they would otherwise.
Anyone choosing between formats can start with all peonies or look at mono bouquets built around a single flower. The time a courier needs is shown in each bouquet's own listing, and the delivery page has the rest.
