Tulips delivered in Dubai: groups, Dutch breeding, and spring bouquets
The tulip is the most "spring" flower in floristry and the second most-requested after the rose in the winter–spring season. The clean cup shape, the cool elegance, and four centuries of breeding make it equally at home in a romantic gift, on a wedding arch, or in an office bouquet.
This category covers single-variety bouquets, kraft-wrapped armfuls, hat-box arrangements, and combinations with eucalyptus, hyacinths, and ranunculus. Supplies come straight from Dutch greenhouses and the wholesale auctions of Aalsmeer — Europe's main flower market.
Groups and varieties
More than 3,000 tulip varieties are officially registered worldwide. We rotate about 30–40 key ones, split into several groups by bud shape, stem length, and flowering window.
- Triumph — classic cup-shaped bud, 40–50 cm stem. The most common group. Cultivars: Strong Gold (yellow), Negrita (purple), Ile de France (red).
- Darwin Hybrids — large-headed, up to 12 cm across. Apeldoorn (scarlet), Ivory Floradale (cream). For statement bouquets.
- French Tulips — long-stemmed premium tulips up to 70 cm. Maureen (white), Menton (soft pink). For wedding floristry.
- Parrot — feathered, with ragged "torn" petals. Rococo (red), Blue Parrot (violet). For dramatic compositions.
- Double / Peony — full-petaled "peony-like" tulips. Mount Tacoma (white), Foxtrot (pink). A winter alternative to peonies.
- Queen of Night — almost-black deep purple, a cultivar with its own legend. For gothic and vintage palettes.
Season and main occasions
The natural tulip season is April–May. Through greenhouse forcing, Dutch growers run blooms from October through June, with peak volume hitting Valentine's Day, International Women's Day on March 8, and Easter. These dates are the busiest of the year, so we lock orders in advance.
In Dubai tulips work right through the winter season — from October to April, when the local climate lets a bouquet sit indoors without wilting on day one. Summer tulips are available too but need constant water-temperature control.
The tulip trick: it keeps growing
A cut tulip stays a living plant — the stem keeps growing in the vase by 2–3 cm during the first 2–3 days. This is a unique property among cut flowers and you need to factor it into the composition.
Because of this, tulips change the bouquet's shape every day. By the end of the week they bend toward the light source — that is normal and beautiful, not a defect. To hold the bouquet shape, use a tall narrow vase that keeps the stems vertical.

Freshness and presentation
A fresh tulip shows several signs: a firm stem, a tight coloured bud, leaves with no yellow patches, no withered edges. We keep only tulips cut within the last four days — that gives the recipient in Dubai the full 5–7-day bloom cycle.
Tulips travel in cold hydroboxes. Stems sit in +6…+8 °C water all the way to delivery, the bud holds its density. In hot Dubai weather this matters — tulips do not handle a thermal shock from +35 °C straight to +20 °C indoors.
Delivery specifics in Dubai
Summer in Dubai means +40…+45 °C in the day and up to +35 °C at night from June through September. Cut flowers lose vitality from overheating in minutes. During this period we move bouquets only in refrigerated vehicles, deliver in early morning or late evening windows (before 10:00 and after 19:00), and pack compositions in heavy kraft with a thermal liner.
Winter in Dubai is mild (+20…+27 °C, November–March) and ideal for delicate varieties: garden roses, tulips, ranunculus. Prices drop, the range widens, and delivery works any time of day.

Catalogue prices are in dirhams (AED), payment by card or cash on receipt. During local holidays (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, UAE National Day on 2 December) and Ramadan we run a special schedule — place orders 2–3 days ahead.
Care at home
Tulip care is different from roses and peonies. The rules: cold water +6…+10 °C only, straight-cut (not angled) trim every two days, minimal water in the vase (5–7 cm from the bottom). Tulips don't take deep water — stems rot.
Do not put tulips next to daffodils or hyacinths — their sap accelerates tulip aging by 30–40%. If you want the combination, soak daffodils separately for 24 hours, rinse the stems, then add to the main vase.
In hot Dubai weather, move the bouquet to the coolest spot in the house overnight, or to the fridge. This stretches the composition's life by 2–3 days without chemical additives — pure plant metabolism.
