One species repeated is a strong shape. Thirty stems of the same flower give a clean silhouette and a single colour, nothing inside the bouquet competes for attention, and that is why these bunches photograph better than they look standing in a crowded workshop.

A mixed build does a different job. It offers several heights and several textures, and it lets a shortage of one flower be covered without changing the outline anyone was promised.

Care is where the two diverge after the first week. A single species bouquet has one trimming height and one water routine, while a mixed one holds stems running on different clocks and usually ends up split between two vases.

Season, honestly

Every catalogue name is available all year. The flower behind it is not, and the gap between those two sentences accounts for most of the disappointment in this part of the shop.

Dutch peonies are the clear example here. They arrive outside their own season with part of their vase life already spent, they cost more for the journey, and a large single species build from them needs ordering days ahead rather than the same morning.

Roses hold up across the calendar in both the Dutch 60 to 90 cm range and the Ecuadorian stems reaching 120 cm. Chrysanthemums do too, and greenhouse tulips from the UAE reach the bench on a short run, so collections built on any of those stay predictable week to week.

What the heat does to the choice

Summer air reaches 40 °C and the coast adds humidity. Every bouquet travels in insulated packing and stays out of direct sun, which is straightforward for a single species build because the whole bunch behaves the same way.

Mixed builds have a weakest link, and it sets the pace for everything else. If one species in the bunch is the first to drop its head in heat, the entire bouquet is handled to that stem's tolerance, so the mixed version costs a little flexibility on the route as well as on the vase.

Delivery takes 2 to 4 hours across Downtown, Marina, JBR, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah and DIFC, and we work 9 AM to 10 PM.

Tulips are the one species we assemble as late as the window allows, since they keep growing inside packaging and arrive slightly taller than they were built.

There is a budget argument for the mixed version that nobody makes out loud. A single species build has a fixed cost per head, so trimming the price means removing stems and shrinking the outline, whereas a mixed build absorbs a smaller budget by changing what fills the middle while keeping the width it was promised.

Office floors in DIFC and Business Bay suit a chrysanthemum build, which survives a working day on a counter without a container. A home in JBR or Marina takes anything, because the flowers reach water within a minute of arriving, and a hotel room at Four Seasons or Address Downtown sits somewhere between the two.
