The same logic covers a desk. An office gift in Business Bay or DIFC usually ends up on a surface that nobody has time to water, in a room where the air conditioning runs constantly, and dried stems are perfectly happy in exactly those conditions. Dry recirculated air is the best climate this format can be given. Four questions decide whether it is the right choice:
- Is the recipient away often. - Is the room air conditioned and closed, or open to a terrace. - How close is the flat to the water. Coastal humidity is the one thing that will spoil this bouquet regardless of how good it was. - Does the occasion want freshness. An apology, a hospital visit or a first romantic gesture reads badly in muted dried stems, and no amount of quality fixes that. Cost belongs in the decision too, though not the way people usually frame it. A dried arrangement is not cheap beside a modest bunch of fresh stems, and compared like that it looks poor value. Set against the repeat deliveries it replaces over the same months, the arithmetic reads rather differently. Delivery takes 2 to 4 hours and, unusually for us, the timing hardly matters: heat in the car does nothing, an hour at the door does nothing. Orders run 9 AM to 10 PM, prices start at 250 AED, and payment goes through Apple Pay or cash to the courier.

Two things it does need, and they take about a minute each. Tip any water out of the vase before the stems go in, since the vessel arrives dry and stays dry. Then keep the arrangement away from a window in full sun, because ultraviolet light takes the pigment apart and anything dyed goes first, pink turning to beige and blue turning grey on the lit side only. Turning it around every couple of months evens that out. The fading still happens, but it happens across the whole bunch instead of on one face of it, and the difference after half a year is easy to see.
