### Pink bouquets in Dubai: two families that share one word The word pink covers two groups that behave like separate colours. Coral, peach and salmon are built on a yellow base. Blush, powder and fuchsia are built on a blue one. Ordering by name alone is how people end up with a bouquet that is technically correct and visibly wrong. Mixing the two families inside one bunch is what makes an arrangement look accidental rather than composed. Decide how much contrast you want after that. #### Telling the base apart before you order Naming a neighbour works better than naming a shade. Against a plain white sheet a yellow-base pink shows its warmth at once while a blue-base one goes faintly grey, and set beside each other the two separate at a glance. Photographs make this harder rather than easier. A screen shifts the base according to whatever else is in the frame, so a coral bouquet shot on a warm evening arrives on the other end looking like blush, and the order gets placed for the wrong family entirely.
