### Sweet and chocolate bouquets in Dubai: the order is a guess about a person A box of chocolates is private. The same chocolates on skewers, wrapped as a bouquet, are not, because they get handed over while other people watch and taken apart while those same people help themselves. Everything difficult about ordering one follows from that. With cut flowers you can be vague and still be right. Here you are choosing what another adult will put in their mouth, in public, with an audience waiting to see whether they enjoy it. Nut fillings, dairy, alcohol centres, sugar avoided on medical advice, a child too young for hard sweets: any one of those turns a generous object into something the recipient has to be polite about.
