### Combo sets in Dubai: the order gets built backwards A bouquet forgives a late delivery. The berry half of the same order does not, and that one difference decides how everything else is planned. Cut stems can stand in a hallway for an afternoon and recover in water, while chilled fruit left in a warm corridor softens, weeps and darkens at the stem end. So we start from the moment of handover and work back from it. The hour you name is the fixed point; the assembly schedule bends around it. #### Building the order backwards Flowers are prepared first, because they tolerate waiting. The edible half is assembled as close to dispatch as the kitchen allows and stays cold until the courier leaves the building. The two parts meet at the last step, when the box is closed, which is why a set made up on a bench at nine in the morning is in worse shape at three than one that spent the same morning in two separate halves. Nothing about that is visible in the finished box, and it is the whole reason we ask for a time rather than a day. In this city the last stretch does the damage anyway, so every minute saved earlier is a minute the set can afford to spend in a lobby. Summer air here runs to 40 °C with high humidity along the coast. We pack insulated, keep the box out of direct sun, and cross the city in 2 to 4 hours. One consequence of this surprises people. Splitting the order, a bouquet in the morning and fruit in the evening, usually ends worse than a single set timed properly. The stems stand dry through the day while somebody waits in for a second courier, and the recipient gets two interruptions out of one gift. The schedule is the recipe. #### Why a window beats a date A same day slot usually serves this format better than a booking made weeks ahead and left to a wide window. Booking early is not the problem; leaving the arrival time open is. The recipient should meet the box soon after it leaves the fridge, and a four hour spread on a Thursday afternoon guarantees the opposite. We deliver 9 AM to 10 PM and will hold a set back rather than send it into a gap. An unannounced delivery to an office reception is a gamble. Somebody has to accept the parcel and somebody has to open it, and if it waits on a counter in a DIFC or Business Bay tower until the end of the working day, the flowers survive and the strawberries do not. Telling the recipient something is coming costs the surprise and saves the gift. Four answers shape the run. - The hour the recipient is at the address, which is the fixed point of the whole order. - Whether it is a home in Marina or JBR, a room at Address Downtown or Four Seasons, or a desk in a tower. - Who can accept it if the recipient steps out, and whether that person knows it needs cold. - Whether the address has a lift, since a set weighs more than a bouquet of the same size and it has to be carried level.
