How they are kept apart
The edible part is lifted clear of the foam. Wrapped chocolates go on wooden skewers standing above the flower heads, boxes sit on a raised section or in their own compartment, and a sheet of film goes underneath. Sealed factory packaging survives that comfortably. Loose biscuits, meringue and anything cut in a patisserie draw moisture out of the air and soften first, so they belong in a separate box rather than among wet stems. A rushed build can be spotted without unpacking anything.

Take it apart on the first evening
The arrangement looks finished, so people leave it that way for days. Two days later the wrappers at the bottom have gone soft, the chocolate has bloomed a dull white in a warm room, and one of the two gifts is gone. Lift the sweets out, put them where they belong, and top the foam up from the edge of the basket. The flowers then carry on for their full week with a few empty holes where the skewers were.
Chocolate deserves one extra line, since it is the part that fails quietly. A basket left near a window for an afternoon will not harm the flowers at all, and the chocolate inside it will never look right again.
What the city adds
That window is not a small risk here. Summer reaches 40 °C with coastal humidity on top, so the basket travels in insulated packing and never stands in the sun on the route. We also ask the recipient to bring it indoors straight away, which is a sentence we do not bother saying about a plain flower basket.
Delivery across the city runs 2 to 4 hours, and for this format we confirm the hour of the handover before anything is built. The composition goes together closer to the van than the rest of the day's orders. Offices in DIFC and Business Bay are the easiest case, since somebody is always at the desk. Apartments in Downtown, Marina and JBR work when the family is home. Hotel rooms need the guest to be in, because a box of chocolate should not spend an afternoon at a concierge desk in this climate. A villa on Palm Jumeirah takes a larger build, and the weight climbs with it.
We work 9 AM to 10 PM. Weight is the last thing worth a warning, since wet foam, jars, boxes and water all add up, the woven handle is decorative, and the whole basket is carried from underneath with both hands.
The format suits a household more than a person. A family with children, a team at work, an evening you have been invited to: the flowers stay on view for everyone and the sweets get shared out the same night.
