41 roses in Dubai: heat, the drive, and what to settle first
Delivery across the city takes 2 to 4 hours, and a bundle of forty-one stems spends all of it standing in a vehicle. In summer the air outside reaches 40 °C and the coast adds humidity. We pack insulated for that. We also ask that nothing is left in the sun at a door, on a step or in a parked car. The flowers come out of that journey thirsty, which is why the first hour indoors matters more than anything picked from a catalogue page.
Insulated packing adds weight to something already heavy. Forty-one stems with wet ends and a paper collar are more than most people expect to take in two hands, and in the first seconds of a handover that surprise shows.
The catalogue starts at 250 AED, and payment goes through Apple Pay or cash to the courier.

Three questions worth answering first
- Is there a floor vase, or a bucket that can stand inside a planter?
- Can everyone agree in advance that the bouquet may be divided, so nobody feels they are taking a gift apart?
- Which room is it going into, since at this size it will not be carried anywhere twice?
Where the answers change
An apartment in Marina, JBR or Business Bay is the straightforward case. The door opens, the flowers go into water, and the only decision left is the room.
A DIFC office is a different job. The bouquet often arrives before the person it is meant for and waits on a counter. We send those in a box with the stems already in water, and we aim at the end of the working day.
Hotels are the third case. Address Downtown, Four Seasons, Atlantis The Palm and Burj Al Arab all mean a lobby, a lift and a corridor before anything reaches a room. A box crosses that route more tidily than a wide paper collar. Family dates on Palm Jumeirah usually end at a table, where the volume has to be agreed against the setting before we build.
The vase question is the one that gets skipped most often. A bundle of this count will not go through a narrow neck without crushing its outer stems, and the answer at that point is a bucket, a planter or two smaller vessels standing side by side.

The week after
Fresh cut flowers hold for one to two weeks, and at this volume the spread inside a single bouquet is wider than the spread between two different ones. Some heads leave early. Taking them out promptly protects the rest. The bouquet gets denser as the week goes on, which is the opposite of what most people expect from it.
Summer changes the week as much as it changes the drive. A room cooled all day and a balcony door left open for an hour are two different climates for the same bouquet. The heads on the outside of the dome register that difference first, which is where you will see it.
Dutch roses arrive at 60 to 90 cm and Ecuadorian stems reach 120 cm. The longer cut looks right at this count and drinks harder, and in a Dubai summer the level in the vase drops far enough overnight to leave cut ends standing in air by morning.
Ordering 41 roses in Dubai for an office handover, say which floor and who signs for it. For an apartment, say whether the last stretch from the car is under cover. In high summer that short walk costs the flowers more than the drive before it.
