Ramadan flowers in Dubai: the format decides whether it lasts the month

A home during the fasting month is a hard place for cut stems. The rooms stay warm, the door opens and closes all evening, guests arrive after dark and the air carries steam from the kitchen. None of that is gentle on a flower. The format you choose matters more than the variety sitting inside it.

A vase, foam, or something that needs no water at all

A hand tied bunch in a vase gives seven to fourteen days if somebody changes the water. In a household that cooks and receives guests every night, nobody does. The water clouds by the third day, bacteria block the cut ends, and the heads go over while the stems still look perfectly sound, which is why a bunch bought at the start of the month tends to disappear halfway through.

An arrangement built on soaked floral foam answers that directly. It gets topped up from above once every two days, a passing sleeve cannot knock it out of shape, and it holds the line the florist gave it. The trade is real: foam gives slightly less life than a clean vase with water changed on schedule, so what you buy is convenience rather than extra days.

Preserved roses sit at the far end of that scale. They take no water, they hold for one to three years, and in exchange they carry no scent and cannot be reshaped once they are set. For a console piece meant to stand from the first evening of the month to the last, that exchange is a reasonable one.

The console is where they earn their keep.

Most households end up mixing the three rather than picking one. A preserved piece holds the hallway for the whole month, a foam build carries the dining table and gets replaced once, and the vase, if there is one, goes somewhere it can be forgotten without anyone noticing. Splitting the budget that way costs about the same as a single large arrangement ordered at the start and leaves the rooms looking cared for in the third week, which is where the single large arrangement usually loses.

What we build these from

Dutch roses at 60 to 90 cm cover most of the work, cut to sit low enough for a table that people talk across. UAE greenhouse chrysanthemums and tulips come in where even head size and an absence of scent matter more than anything else, which on a dining table is most evenings. Ecuadorian roses up to 120 cm belong in floor pieces standing against a wall, and on a table that length simply gets cut away.

Getting it to the address

Delivery takes 2 to 4 hours and runs 9 AM to 10 PM. Downtown, Marina, JBR, Business Bay, Palm Jumeirah and DIFC are all routine for us, and the build changes with the room rather than with the district. When the month falls in the hot half of the year, with the desert climate reaching 40 °C and the coast adding humidity, we pack the box insulated and ask that it is not left standing in the sun, in a car or on a landing.

Hotel addresses come with one fixed constraint. A room may have nothing to put stems in, so anything going to Address Downtown, Four Seasons, Atlantis The Palm or Burj Al Arab is built on foam and arrives ready to stand where it lands.
