101 roses in Phuket: two bundles, or fewer flowers with bigger heads

Two bundles of roses instead of one large bunch, prepared for a villa in Phuket

Splitting the count in half solves several problems at once, and it is the substitution people consider least often. Each bundle can be held in one arm. Each one fits an ordinary floor vessel. A pair can be carried up a flight of villa steps by one person who can still see where they are putting their feet.

It also lets two people be thanked instead of one, which suits a family date or a hotel team better than a single object somebody has to be assigned.

The loss is real and worth stating plainly. Two medium bundles read as two medium bundles, and the specific effect of a hundred flowers standing together disappears the moment they are apart.

"We ask what happens in the ten minutes after the handover. That question decides the format more often than the budget does."

— JFLOO florist

The second substitution is the one people resist hardest and regret least. A count half the size, built from a larger headed grade on long stems, occupies close to the same visual volume and behaves far better in a car, a lift and a room. Where it fails is counting: some recipients count, most do not, and a number tied to an anniversary or an age is the one case where nothing else will do.

What the west coast road does to the choice

Deliveries run 90 to 180 minutes along the coast, with separate windows for villas, marinas and airport routes, and we deliver from 9 AM to 10 PM. A single bundle of this size travels alone, fills most of a vehicle and cannot be repositioned once it is in.

Two smaller bundles ride better and arrive as two objects rather than one, which matters at the far end more than on the road.

Heat makes that more than a question of convenience. The air runs at 25 to 33 °C and it is humid, so anything that traps its own warmth starts at a disadvantage the moment the door shuts. A split build presents more outer surface and far less buried middle, and it opens up on arrival instead of having to be unpacked in stages.

During monsoon showers and in evening hill traffic we add route time. That extra time is spent by whichever format is in the car, and a bundle spends it worse than a split does, because a hundred stems pressed together hold their own warmth and nothing moves through the middle of them.

A large single bundle of roses handed over at a resort in Phuket

Imported roses are what this count is built from here, and the grade is agreed before the stems are cut. Once a bundle of that size is spiralled and tied, nothing about it can be changed without starting again.

Where the airport comes into it

An arrival is the scenario that argues loudest for the split. A hundred stems in one bundle block the view of the person carrying them, take two arms in a terminal, and end up on the floor at the first opportunity.

Two bundles walk through the same terminal without any of that.

A marina drop is similar for a different reason. The last part is done on foot, and one person carrying two manageable bundles gets down a pier more safely than one person carrying an armful they cannot see over.

The catalogue starts at 2200 THB, and payment goes by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PromptPay, bank transfer or cash to the courier in baht. If the number itself is the message, we build the single bundle and plan the route around it. If the number is simply a way of saying a lot, say so, and we will show what the same spend looks like in a larger grade on longer stems.
