Baskets with tulips in Phuket: where a bouquet is the better answer
A cut tulip keeps growing after it leaves the bulb, and it turns towards light while it does. Both of those are manageable in a vase. Trim the stems every couple of days, turn the vase each evening, and wrap the bunch in paper for an hour if it has leaned too far.
In foam only the turning is left to you.
Stems cannot be shortened once they are seated, and a stem pulled out will not go back into the same channel, since the hole has been worked open and no longer feeds it. So a tulip basket loosens and rises over its week while a tulip bouquet can be kept in order the whole way through.
That is the honest trade, and we would rather state it than have somebody discover it on day four. Convenience for the recipient, in exchange for a slightly shorter and much less controllable life for the flowers.

There is a second point in the bouquet's favour, and it is about water. Tulips prefer cold water and a shallow fill, which is exactly what a vase gives them. Foam holds a constant damp at room temperature instead, and while that difference is small in a cool room it is not small in a warm one.
Which matters here more than in a cold country
At 25 to 33 °C with humid air, the warm room is the normal case rather than the exception. A basket standing in an air conditioned hotel room behaves roughly the way it would in a European spring. The same basket on a villa terrace in Rawai or on a table by the sea does not, and the growing and leaning that would have spread over a week turn up much sooner than that.
So the recommendation splits by address rather than by budget. For a cooled room, the basket is the better gift and we will say so. For an open terrace or a long stay, a bouquet in a vase, or a different flower entirely, gets more out of the same money.
Colour, and how many heads
Closed tulips read as blocks rather than as individual flowers, which changes what a mix is worth. Double and fringed varieties hold their detail at distances where a plain single loses it, and the green flushed and parrot types change the character of a bowl more than any number of extra stems will.
More heads mostly buy width here rather than height.
That last point catches people out when the brief is a large arrangement. Adding stems to a low bowl spreads it sideways across the table, and the way to gain presence is a deeper container and a taller build, not a longer list of flowers.
Timing and the drive
Along the west coast a basket takes 90 to 180 minutes, with separate windows for villas, marinas and airport routes. From May to October the rain and the evening hill traffic lengthen those routes, and we put the extra time into the slot at the point of booking.
Delivery runs 9 AM to 10 PM, orders start at 2200 THB, and payment goes by bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PromptPay, bank transfer or cash in baht. Morning slots are the ones worth asking for with this flower specifically, since an hour of afternoon heat in a vehicle costs it more than it costs anything else in the section.
