A batch is judged against the other pieces in it, because the people receiving it compare within the hour, and photographs reach a group chat before the courier has finished the round. That comparison is what makes a run of thirty harder than thirty separate orders. Two things protect it. The heads are graded before assembly so the calibre stays even, and the specification is locked before the first piece is built. What the route runs on is access: the floor or villa number, the phone of whoever physically opens the door, and the hours when somebody is behind it. On this island the address type matters as much as the address. A villa behind a gate does not. There the door is opened by a manager or by security, on their hours rather than the recipient's, and that difference decides which day the box goes out. Four things we ask for in every row: - The name and district. - The address type: hotel, villa, marina, restaurant. - A phone for whoever opens the door, which is rarely the sender and often not the recipient. - The hours when the address is staffed, along with anything the building wants in advance, such as a courier name left at a desk the day before. #### How the round is built Delivery along the west coast runs 90 to 180 minutes, and villas, marinas and airport routes have separate windows. A batch is one route rather than a stack of individual deliveries, so we sort the list into those windows before we quote a day for it. Monsoon showers between May and October and evening traffic on the hill roads both add route time. We plan the longer legs early in the day for that reason, and the boxes travel closed. Air at 25 to 33 °C is easier on an arrangement built on floral foam than on a wrapped bouquet, which is worth knowing when part of the list will be out of the room for the weekend.
