A gift handed over at a party rarely stays where it was given. It goes onto a chair, then into a car, then onto a kitchen counter at one in the morning. The format decides how much of it is still recognisable by then.

Preserved roses survive it best of anything we sell, since they carry no water and shed nothing along the way. If the recipient is flying out over the holidays, cut stems are the wrong present altogether, and a preserved or potted piece is the one still standing when they get back.

Foam holds for a week where a vase asks for fresh water and a recut every morning, and a Thai orchid in a glazed pot outlasts both without anyone doing anything at all. Chrysanthemums are the forgiving end of cut work here, since they take a missed day without complaint. Hydrangeas and seasonal peonies are the opposite, beautiful on arrival and demanding by the second evening. Preserved roses answer the same question a third way, since nothing about them needs doing at all.

For colleagues, keep the palette calm and send it early. Red carries a reading that an office rarely wants, while white, cream and quiet green with tropical foliage and a little gold land the same way for almost everyone.
Where the gift is going on the island
Along the west coast we hold to 90 to 180 minutes. That covers Patong, Kata, Karon, Kamala, Bang Tao and Surin. Villas, marinas and airport routes keep separate windows, since the last part of those runs happens on foot.

Air sits between 25 and 33 °C, so a wrapped gift opens faster than the giver expects and a boxed one holds its state longer. The rainy season runs May to October, which leaves the New Year week clear of it, though evening traffic on the hill roads stays exactly as it always is.
