Baskets with flowers and sweets in Bali: weight, distance and the household
At the same size, this basket weighs more than a plain flower one. Wet foam, jars, boxes and water all add up, and if the edible section sits to one side, the load does too. On a road that can run three hours, both of those matter more than they would across a small town.
The handle is decoration, nothing more.
Carry it from underneath, with both hands under the base. Skewers are the other travelling problem, because tilt the basket and the sweets swing on their sticks and rub the petals beside them. A courier keeps it upright the whole way and never lays it flat. On the run out to Uluwatu or Tabanan that discipline gets tested at every bend.
Orders start at 650000 IDR, and payment goes through QRIS, GoPay, OVO, DANA or cash to the courier. Seminyak, Canggu and Sanur sit in a 90 to 150 minute window, while Uluwatu, Tabanan and the remote villas take up to 3 to 4 hours.

Heat and the edible half
Above 30 °C and in high humidity we wrap the basket firmly and pack a cooling element. That covers the drive and nothing past it. Once the basket is indoors the responsibility moves to whoever received it. A spot near a window for one afternoon will leave the flowers untouched and the chocolate dull white. Nobody notices until the box is opened, and by then the arrangement beside it looks perfectly healthy.
The drier stretch runs roughly April to October and the rainy months November to March, and we add route time whenever the weather asks for it. Extra minutes cost the flowers nothing, since the stems already stand in water, and they are exactly what the chocolate cannot spare. We work 9 AM to 10 PM, and for this format we confirm the hour of the handover.
Where the format shines
It suits a household rather than a single person.
- A long stay house in Sanur or Ubud with a family in it.
- An office where the flowers stay on view and the box goes round the desks.
- A dinner in Ubud you have been invited to, opened at the table the same evening.
The reason is simple enough. Everyone at the address gets something out of it, the flowers stand where the whole room sees them, and nobody is left holding a chore that came attached to a present. A wrapped bouquet asks the recipient for a vase, a pair of scissors and a free half hour on the evening it lands.
It suits a formal occasion badly. On a meeting table, chocolates on sticks read as a children's party, and a straightforward flower basket does more for you there.
Weddings in Jimbaran are the other request we redirect. A ceremony piece stays on view for hours and gets photographed, and an edible section does neither of those jobs well.
Villas between guests are the case we turn down most often in this shape. If nobody arrives until the weekend, the flowers will be fine and the sweets will not. We send the flowers and leave the second gift out of it.
Take it apart on the first evening: the sweets come out, the foam gets topped up from the rim, and the arrangement carries on with a few empty holes where the skewers were.
