Wedding flower baskets in Bali: the aisle is narrower than it was at setup
An aisle measured in an empty room is not the aisle guests walk down. Chairs get occupied, people lean into the gangway, long skirts spread across the floor, and the clear path shrinks from both sides at once. An arrangement that sat comfortably out of the way during setup ends up brushed by every third person during the processional, which works stems loose along the outer edge and occasionally takes the whole basket over.
Leave more room than looks necessary. It will not look like too much by the time the ceremony starts.
Doorways deserve a measurement rather than a glance. A tall build goes through a double door and stops dead at a single one, and that discovery always arrives with the arrangement already in somebody's arms and a corridor of guests behind them. The same applies to the gate of a private villa, where the opening is often narrower than the drive that leads to it.
"The measurement people forget is not the room. It is everything between the vehicle and the room, and on this island that usually includes a step somebody built by eye."

Floors want protecting under the base, and here that is not a formality. A liner keeps water off the weave, but condensation still forms underneath a full block through a long warm day, and it sits there for hours because nothing evaporates in this air. On polished timber that leaves a ring. On stone it leaves a darker patch that dries out eventually and looks alarming in the meantime.
Chair rows are worth one question as well. If the count changes late, and it often does, the aisle narrows again after the arrangements are already in position, and shifting them at that stage drags the bases across a floor that has just been dressed.
What the venues here actually ask for
Jimbaran wedding venues and ocean villas are open to the air for most of the day, which changes both the packing and the schedule. Above 30 °C in high humidity we wrap firmly and add a cooling element for the road, and all of that comes off at the venue rather than being left on until guests arrive.
Seminyak, Canggu and Sanur sit in a 90 to 150 minute window, while Uluwatu, Tabanan and the remote villas run up to 3 to 4 hours. An install is booked to a fixed hour rather than to a window, and in the rainy season from November to March we add route time on top, because a ceremony cannot be moved back an hour to suit a road.
The hotels in Nusa Dua are the easiest addresses of the lot. The St. Regis Bali Resort, Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, The Legian Seminyak and Alila Villas Uluwatu all take large work through a service route and move a wide flat base more readily than a tall vase on a trolley.
Orders start at 650000 IDR. Payment goes through QRIS, GoPay, OVO, DANA or cash to the courier.
Imported roses at 60 to 90 cm and Ecuadorian stems up to 120 cm carry most of these builds. Macrophylla hydrangea drinks harder than anything else in the bowl and wants a larger block under it, orchids hold the upper lines through a warm afternoon, and tropical foliage covers the foam along the rim without wilting by the time the ceremony starts.
Working hours are 9 AM to 10 PM. Wedding flower baskets in Bali are measured against the way in before they are measured against the room, so send the width of the narrowest door, gate or stair on the route and we build the tall pieces to pass it.
